Deep into my low season in November, a time when the phrase ‘guilt’ belongs not in a bicycle owner’s diction, I bumped into Tiffany Cromwell. “Nice information, we have began a gravel race in Australia,” she proclaimed. “The truth is, it is across the nook [from] your loved ones home in Adelaide.”

When is the race, I responded. “Oh, you realize, mid-January,” got here the reply. Then down goes my cake and my final swallow of completely milky espresso – my final second of innocence. My season is now about to begin two months sooner than anticipated, and I am now panicking. Thanks, Tiff. And thanks Valtteri [Bottas].
